I received my Ph.D. at Cornell in 2004. I was previously a research fellow for three years at the University of St Andrews in Scotland, and before that I was a faculty member at Bard College in upstate New York.
In addition to teaching and working on research, I am currently co-supervising a Ph.D. student (Davide Perego) with Francesco Matucci at the University of Milano–Bicocca. Davide is studying the machinery of rational embeddings of hyperbolic groups with the goal of deriving topological information about the Gromov boundary of such a group.
