The Linux systems are running Ubuntu 1820.04 LTS. They have the standard software packages for software development, desktop applications as well as software for LaTEX and the composition of web content. If there is something that you need which is not on the systems, please let us know, we'd be happy to include it.
 
We also have Linux machines that are dedicated computation machines. You can see the list of machines at [[MachineList]]. You can connect to the machines remotely by following the instructions here: [[Connecting]].

* Maple (Type <b><tt>maple</tt></b> in a terminal window for the text-based system, type <b><tt> xmaple & </tt></b> for the graphical system.)

* GAP (type <b><tt>gap</tt></b> in a terminal window. Gap is text-based.)
